Description “Come, Come again ! Whatever you are… Whether you are infidel, idolater or fireworshipper. Whether you have broken your vows of repentance a hundred times. This is not the gate of despair, this is the gate of hope. Come, come again…” Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi Şeb-i Arus (meaning “Wedding Night” in Persian) is an annual Sufi commemoration marking the death anniversary of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi (1207–1273), the renowned Persian poet, Islamic scholar, and mystic. In Sufism, Rumi’s death is not seen as an end but as a union with the divine—a spiritual “wedding night” with God. This view aligns with his teachings, which emphasize love, surrender, and the transcendence of the soul beyond the material world. Key Highlights of Şeb-i Arus: Whirling Dervish ceremonies (Sema): Symbolic of the soul’s journey to enlightenment. Recitations and poetry: Rumi’s works are often read or chanted. Musical performances: Sufi music with the ney (reed flute) and tambur (lute) plays an essential role. This event attracts spiritual seekers, Rumi enthusiasts, and Sufi followers from all over the world, offering a unique experience blending mysticism, music, and philosophy. A wonderful and authentically profound experience of the Sufi ceremony which made a strong impression on us. We appreciated the welcoming and kind atmosphere in the Sufi community! Thank you - we recommend this ceremony far away from the more superficial shows for tourists if you want a genuine experience! I was in search of an authentic whirling dervish ceremony and I am glad that I found one. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. Clear instructions and video was sent to find the place easily. The introductory video before the ceremony could be shorter. Photos and videos were allowed. Snacks were served. It was a great way to end our trip to Istanbul. Thanks to EMAV for allowing us to be a part of their ceremony Posted on Eren Köseoğlu Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 10 numara 5 yıldız Posted on Jordi Subirana Lladó Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
